Match Simulator: Modeling Lineup Changes Before Kick-Off

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Match Simulator?
Match Simulator is a Premium-tier feature in Tactiq that lets you re-run an analysis after overriding inputs the AI would otherwise pull from automated lineup feeds. You can mark up to two starters as out, set the home team's motivation tier, or apply a recent-form scaler. The analysis re-runs and shows how each input changes the probability split.
When does it actually matter?
Lineup overrides matter most for fixtures where one or two key players carry an outsized share of a team's chance creation or defensive structure. A striker who scores 40 percent of his side's goals is a different lineup omission than a rotated full-back. The simulator quantifies which side of that line the absence falls on.
How accurate are the simulated probabilities?
The simulator uses the same probability engine that powers the base analysis, so accuracy follows the engine's calibration. The override inputs introduce assumption: you are saying 'assume this player is out' or 'assume motivation is high'. The output is conditional on that assumption holding.
Can I save simulations to history?
Yes. Each simulation is saved to your analysis history alongside the base analysis, with a tag showing which overrides were applied. Premium users get 200 saved analyses, so a busy weekend with multiple simulations per fixture still fits.
Does the simulator work for all leagues?
It works for every featured league where Tactiq has full lineup and player data, which is currently the same 50 featured leagues used by the base Premium analysis. For non-featured leagues, the simulator runs without the lineup-out override but still supports motivation and recent-form overrides.
